Wilson Miller ignites entrepreneurial marketing knowledge at University of Cambridge
Date posted: 01.08.2007
Dorothy Briggs, Group Account Director at Wilson Miller, provided marketing advice to participants at 'Ignite' - the prestigious entrepreneurial programme run each summer by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Taking part in one-on-one surgeries where students are allowed just two critical questions, and at clinics to help refine the marketing component of their final presentation, Dorothy offered advice to companies in sectors as diverse as photonic technologies and offshore research consultancy. “Most participants will admit that identifying the right market for their idea is often the biggest challenge they face – and vital if they’re going to secure funding. The purpose of the sessions is to help focus and develop a strategy for bringing the concept forward and it’s stimulating and rewarding to discuss these ideas and help formulate a strong plan,” commented Dorothy. “It’s quite a privilege to be a part of the Ignite experience, and shows how Wilson Miller is able to provide real insight to technology companies at any stage of their development” Participants come from all over the world for the intensive, one-week training programme for aspiring entrepreneurs and corporate innovators to trial and prepare their business ideas for the commercial environment, and Dorothy provided input to six participants.
